Houston police are investigating the fatal auto-pedestrian crash that occurred at 9500 Westheimer Road about 6:25 a.m. today (November 21).
The identity of the deceased female, 73, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant E. Alejandro and Officer J. Trevino reported:
A white Dodge Ram truck was traveling westbound at the above address when a female pedestrian failed to yield the right of way and entered the roadway. The Dodge struck the female. Responding Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced the female deceased at the scene.
According to witnesses at the scene, a second vehicle of unknown make or model also struck the pedestrian. The driver of the vehicle did not stop to provide aid.
The driver of the Dodge remained at the scene and showed no signs of intoxication.
The investigation is ongoing.
