Investigation into Fatal Crash at 2300 North Freeway

Houston police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred in the 2300 block of North Freeway (North Interstate Highway 45) about 5:50 p.m. on Saturday (December 27).
The identity of the deceased male, 68, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant V. Vo and Officer J. Chen reported:
A male pedestrian was in the HOV lane and was attempting to cross the freeway at the above address.  When he stepped into the main lanes of the freeway he was struck by a white Ford F250 that was traveling southbound. Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced the pedestrian deceased at the scene.
The female driver, 34, remained at the scene, showed no signs of intoxication, and was questioned and released.
The investigation is ongoing.
