Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 11330 Homestead Road
Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a male and the wounding of five others at 11330 Homestead Road at 10:15 p.m. on Saturday (Jan. 31).
The identity of the deceased male, 24, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant C. LaFour and Detectives D. Crowder, A. Vinogradov, and A. Beiza reported:
Officers with the Northeast Patrol Division were called to the above address for a report of a traffic hazard where several vehicles were blocking the roadway. As officers cleared the roadway, gunshots were heard in the adjacent parking lot. Officers attempted to make their way towards the shooting, as a large crowd began to disperse and flee the location.
One victim was located and transported to Lyndon Baines Johnson Hospital (LBJ) by responding Houston Fire Department paramedics where doctors pronounced him deceased. Officers also located two other males, 15 and 16 years old, with gunshot wounds who were also transported to area hospital in stable condition.
As officers investigated the shooting they learned an additional three other victims, one male age 19 and two females ages 20 and 22, had self-transported to an area hospital where they were all reported to be in stable condition.
