Houston police are awaiting autopsy results in the death of a woman found at 2424 Sakowitz Street about 11:40 a.m. on Sunday (February 1).
The identity and cause of death of the woman, 37, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant J. Nielsen and Detective G. Herrera reported:
Officers responded to a welfare check at the above address and located an unresponsive female on the floor near the entry way of the residence. Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced her deceased.
Officers observed the female to have bruising and marks on her neck. An autopsy will determine the female’s cause of death and the investigation remains ongoing.
