Update: Surveillance Video Released in Fatal Shooting at 340 South 69th Street
Houston police are releasing surveillance video in the fatal shooting of a man that occurred at 340 South 69th Street about 7:20 p.m. January 7.
The suspect is described as a white or Hispanic male with short dark hair and facial hair. He was last seen fleeing the area in a white t-shirt and possibly blue jean pants. Surveillance video of the suspect is attached to this news release. Also attached is a picture of a hoodie the suspect was seen wearing prior to and during the shooting.
The victim is identified as Luis Quinteros, 57.
HPD Homicide Division Detectives C. Vaughn and L. Patterson reported:
Officers responded to a report of a shooting at the above address and found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound outside a business at the above address. Responding Houston Fire Department paramedics transported the Mr. Quinteros to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
Further investigation revealed the victim was an on-duty security guard at the business when he was approached by a suspect described only as a white or Hispanic male. The suspect placed a gun to the victim’s back and attempted to disarm the security guard. A physical altercation ensued and the suspect fired his weapon, striking the victim. The suspect then fled the scene on foot in an unknown direction.
