Investigation into Fatal Crash at 13300 Katy Freeway

Houston police have learned a man injured in a hit and run crash at 13300 Katy Freeway (West Interstate Highway 10) about 3 a.m. on February 21.
The identity of the deceased male, 51, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant M. Barrow and Officer R. Guzman reported:
A male exited his vehicle to assist two other vehicles involved in a previous crash on the freeway. The male was then struck by an unknown vehicle which fled the scene. Houston Fire Department paramedics transported the male to an area hospital in critical condition. Doctors pronounced him deceased on February 23.
Preliminary information indicates the suspect’s vehicle is a black or dark-colored Honda sedan.
