Investigation into Fatal Crash at 1700 Collingsworth Street

Houston police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred at 1700 Collingsworth Street about 12:55 a.m. today (March 4).
The identity of the deceased male is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Rose and Officer V. Taylor reported:
A bicyclist was riding northbound across the westbound lanes at the above address. A black BMW 5351 traveling westbound struck the bicycle and the rider was thrown off. Another vehicle then struck the cyclist lying in the roadway and left the scene. Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced the male deceased at the scene.
The male driver of the BMW, 60, remained at the scene, did not show signs of intoxication, and was questioned and released.
