Investigation into Fatal Crash at 5100 West Alabama Street

Houston police are investigating the fatal auto-pedestrian crash at 5100 West Alabama Street about 11:25 p.m. on Monday (March 9).
The identity of the deceased male, 65, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeants K. Bui and D. Rose and Officer L. Nguyen reported:
A black Chevrolet Suburban was making a left turn from Sage Road onto West Alabama Street when the vehicle struck a male pedestrian. Houston Fire Department paramedics transported the male to an area hospital where doctors pronounced him deceased.
The male driver of the Chevrolet, 57, remained at the scene, did not show signs of impairment, and was questioned and released.
The investigation is ongoing.
