Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Crash at 9900 North Houston Rosslyn Road
Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in a fatal hit-and-run crash in the 9900 block of North Houston Rosslyn Road about 3:55 p.m. on Sunday (March 22).
The suspect, Eli Anthony Lobo Doblado, 18, is charged with failure to stop and render aid in the 183rd Criminal District Court. A booking photo of Lobo Doblado is attached to this news release.
The deceased male is identified as Rafael Navarro Jaurequi, 76.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant V. Vo and Officer T. Pham reported:
A white Toyota Camry was traveling northbound at the above address when a male pedestrian was crossing the road from the west side to the east side. The Toyota struck the pedestrian and left the scene. Houston Fire Department pronounced the male deceased at the scene.
The driver of the Toyota, Lobo Doblado, later returned to the scene and was taken into custody by Harris County Constable Precinct 1 deputies.
Investigators consulted the Harris County District Attorney’s Office and the suspect was subsequently charged and booked into the Harris County jail.
