Investigation into Fatal Crash at 1400 West Mount Houston Road

Houston police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred at 1400 West Mount Houston Road about 9:50 p.m. on Monday (April 6).
The identity of the deceased male, 20, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant J. James and Officer N. Luu reported:
A tan Toyota Avalon was traveling eastbound at the above address when it collided with a grey Jeep Wrangler traveling northbound on Deer Trail Drive. Preliminary information indicates the Toyota ran a red light.
Houston Fire Department paramedics transported the passenger in the Toyota to an area hospital where doctors pronounced him deceased.
The driver of the Toyota was not injured. The occupants of the Jeep were transported with minor injuries.
The investigation is ongoing.
