Investigation into Fatal Crash at 9201 Gulf Freeway

Houston police are investigating the fatal crash that occurred at 9100 Gulf Freeway (South Interstate Highway 45) about 8:05 p.m. on Tuesday (May 20).
The identity of the deceased male, 23, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Griffiths and Officer M. Lozano reported:
The driver of a silver Alfa Romeo Stelvio 9 was traveling southbound on the Gulf Freeway when he failed to maintain a single lane and struck the black barriers placed in front of an exit. The vehicle then rotated into a moving lane on the freeway and was struck by a black Suzuki motorcycle. The operator of the motorcycle was thrown from the motorcycle. A black Aprilia RSV motorcycle then struck the riderless Suzuki motorcycle.
The operator of the Suzuki motorcycle, 23, was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased. The operator of the Aprilia motorcycle suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene.
The driver of the Alfa Romeo was determined not to be intoxicated and was questioned and released.
The investigation is continuing.
