Investigation into Fatal Crash at 3600 Cork Drive

Houston police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred at 3600 Cork Drive about 8:05 p.m. on Sunday (June 22).
The identity of the deceased female, 71, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant Y. Ramirez and Officer R. Young reported:
A gray Jeep wrangler was traveling westbound at the above address and a blue Nissan Sentra was southbound on Claygate Drive. The Nissan failed to yield the right of way at a stop sign in the intersection. The Jeep struck the Nissan.
Houston Fire Department paramedics transported a female passenger of the Nissan to Ben Taub where she was pronounced deceased. The remaining occupants of the Nissan were also transported to an area hospital in stable condition.
The driver of the Jeep remained at the scene, did not show signs of intoxication and was questioned and released.
The investigation is continuing.
