Investigation into Fatal Crash at 4300 South MacGregor Way

Houston police are investigating the fatal crash that occurred at 4300 South MacGregor Way about 11:00 p.m. on Friday (June 27).
The deceased male is identified as Kip Thompson, 51.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant J. Richards and Officer C. Moralez reported:
A blue Ford Explorer was traveling northbound in the 5200 block of Cullen at South MacGregor Way. The driver failed to control speed, struck a dead end wall and landed in a body of water. The vehicle was pulled from the water with the assistance of the HPD Dive Team.
Responding Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced the male driver, Mr. Thompson, deceased at the scene.
No other persons or vehicles were involved in this crash.
The investigation is continuing.
