Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 5909 South Gessner Road

Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man and wounding of another at 5909 South Gessner Road about 3 a.m. today (July 18). 
The identity of the deceased victim, 29, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
The second male victim was transported to an area hospital, treated and has since been released.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant C. Duncan and Detective C. Flora reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital after a male was admitted with at least one gunshot wound. Officers learned a private vehicle transported the victim to the hospital, where doctors pronounced him deceased.
The second victim was also transported to the hospital by a private vehicle.
Officers were informed the shooting incident occurred in the parking lot of a business at the above address. Witnesses told investigators there was an altercation prior to the shooting incident.
At this time there is no known suspect(s) description.
