Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 3900 Old Spanish Trail

Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 3900 Old Spanish Trail about 6:35 p.m. on July 27.
The identity of the victim, 53, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant C. Lamont and Detectives C. Davidson and R. Bounds reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call in a parking lot at the above address and found an unresponsive male in the driver’s seat of a vehicle. Paramedics pronounced him deceased at the scene.
Officers learned the male was involved in a verbal altercation with an unknown suspect that led to the shooting. The suspect fled in an unknown direction.
