HPD Homicide Division Detectives H. Montealegre, G. Rangel, and K. Amri reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting at the above address and found the victim with multiple gunshot wounds lying next to his vehicle. Officers provided medical assistance until Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the male, later identified as Mr. Santiesteban, deceased.
According to witnesses, a pickup truck, described as a white, four-door Dodge Ram pickup truck, was parked on Willow Beach with two persons inside and two males standing outside. The victim arrived and met with the four persons associated with the vehicle. At some point, a physical altercation occurred and the victim was shot. The victim then got into his vehicle, a black Toyota Camry, drove southbound on Willow Beach and then struck a residence. The suspects fled the scene in an unknown direction.
Further investigation identified Montes as a suspect in this case. On July 23, he was arrested in El Paso on an unrelated charge. He was subsequently charged for his role in this incident. He’s awaiting extradition to Harris County.
Additional investigation identified Nunez and the juvenile male as suspects in this case. They were both arrested last Friday (July 25) and subsequently charged.
