UPDATE: Suspect Charged, Arrested in Fatal Shooting at 3900 Old Spanish Trail

Charges have been filed against a suspect charged in the fatal shooting of a man at 3900 Old Spanish Trail about 6:35 p.m. on July 27.
The suspect, Morris Nickerson, 47, is charged with murder In the 182nd State District Court. A booking photo of Nickerson is attached to this news release.
The victim is identified as Andrea Jacobs, 53.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant C. Lamont and Detectives C. Davidson and R. Bounds reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call in a parking lot at the above address and found an unresponsive male in the driver’s seat of a vehicle. Paramedics pronounced him deceased at the scene.
Officers learned the male was involved in a verbal altercation with an unknown suspect that led to the shooting. The suspect fled in an unknown direction.
Further investigation identified Nickerson as the suspect. On July 31, he was arrested on unrelated charges and booked into the Harris County Jail. He was subsequently charged in this case on August 1.
