Investigation into Skeletal Remains Found at 814 McIntosh Street
Houston police are awaiting autopsy results on skeletal remains found at 814 McIntosh Street about 9 a.m. on Saturday (August 23).
The identity, gender and cause of death of the individual are pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant M. Arrington and Officer M. Castillo reported:
Officers responded to a report of a human skull sitting on the ground at the above address. When they arrived they found the skull sitting atop items that had been put out for trash. After speaking with witnesses officers found a homeless female had been walking with the skull and had left it there. Officers were able to locate the female, who then led officers to the location where the additional remains were resting.
An anthropologist from the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences responded to the scene and collected what is believed to be human remains.
The investigation is pending results from the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
