Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 6915 Hoffman Street

The fatal shooting of a man at 6915 Hoffman Street about 10:25 p.m. on Monday (Sept. 8) will be referred to a Harris County Grand Jury.
The identity of the deceased male, 52, is pending identification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide Division Detectives W. Huff and J. Nguyen reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a report of a shooting at a residence at the above address and found a male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Responding Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced the male deceased at the scene.
Further investigation and witness reports stated a male assaulted a female prior to getting into a physical altercation with a second male. The second male retrieved a firearm and fired, striking the first male. A female witness identified the shooter as a friend.
The male shooter, 50, was located by Westside patrol officers and provided a statement to detectives. After consulting with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office it was determined the shooting would be referred to a Harris County Grand Jury.
