Investigation into Fatal Crash at 5000 Westheimer Road
Houston police are investigating the fatal crash that occurred in the 5000 block of Westheimer Road about 5:45 a.m. today (September 11).
The identity of the two deceased males is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant E. Fendia and Officer C. Sartor reported:
Two HPD patrol officers were traveling westbound at the intersection of Winrock and Westheimer when they were almost struck by a white Jaguar traveling eastbound on Westheimer. Officers did a u-turn with the intent of stopping the Jaguar on a traffic stop and activated their lights and sirens. Due to the high speed the suspect vehicle was traveling, officers were not able to catch up to the Jaguar and turned off their lights and sirens.
Approximately five minutes later, about 5:45 a.m., a crash was reported at the above address.
Responding officers found a white Jaguar F Type S that was traveling at a high rate of speed had left the roadway, went airborne and then crashed into the side of a building at the above address. Both the driver and passenger in the vehicle were ejected and were pronounced deceased at the scene by Houston Fire Department paramedics.
The investigation is continuing.
