Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 5330 North Braeswood Boulevard

Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a juvenile male at 5330 North Braeswood Boulevard about 7:15 p.m. on Friday (September 19).
The victim is identified as Kenneth Payne, 15.
HPD Homicide Division Detectives G. Rangel and H. Montealegre reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a report of a shooting victim at a hospital at 7600 Beechnut Street about 7:50 p.m. Witnesses stated the victim was involved in a disturbance at a gas station at 5330 North Braeswood Boulevard. Officers learned two groups were involved in a physical altercation at the gas station. As they were leaving, a suspect(s) fired shots towards their vehicle, striking the victim. The victim was transported to the hospital where doctors pronounced him deceased.
The victim was later identified as Mr. Payne.
At this time, there is no known suspect(s).
