Investigation into Fatal Crash at 1900 North Freeway

Houston police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred at 1900 North Freeway (North Interstate Highway 45) about 10:35 p.m.
The identity of the deceased male pedestrian, 55, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Griffiths and D. Hoang reported:
A silver Chevrolet Malibu was traveling northbound at the above address when the driver saw a pedestrian in the roadway. The driver tried to avoid the individual, but struck him. The pedestrian was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
The driver remained at the scene, showed no signs of intoxication, and was questioned and released.
The investigation is continuing.
