Investigation into Fatal Crash at 5300 Spur 5

Houston police are investigating the fatal crash that occurred at 5300 Spur 5 about 8:15 a.m. today (Oct. 27).
The identity of the male victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant A. Patterson and J. Tran reported:
The driver of a maroon Kia Sorento was traveling south on Spur 5 when he left the roadway and into the construction site along Spur 5. He continued driving south until the end of the bridge that is under construction and struck a concrete wall. Responding Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced the male deceased at the scene.
No other persons or vehicles were involved.
The investigation is continuing.
