Investigation into Fatal Crash at 2500 Gessner Road

Houston police are investigating the fatal crash in the 2500 block of Gessner Road about 6:15 a.m. today (October 30).
The identity of the deceased male, 72, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant R. Lyman and Officer T. Riley reported:
A gold Toyota Sienna was traveling southbound at the above address when a male pedestrian failed to yield the right of way and entered the roadway. The Toyota struck the male. Houston Fire Department paramedics transported him to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
The driver remained at the scene, showed no signs of intoxication, and was questioned and released.
The investigation is ongoing.
