Investigation into Fatal Crash at 7300 Dixie Drive

Houston police have learned a woman injured in a crash at 7300 Dixie Drive about 8:25 p.m. on August 23 has died.
The identity of the deceased female, 59, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Officer J. Leon and Southeast Patrol Division Officers reported:
A red Toyota Tacoma was eastbound at the above address and attempted to make a right turn on Telephone Road when the Toyota struck a female pedestrian in the crosswalk. Houston Fire Department paramedics transported the female to an area hospital.
Officers cited the male driver of the Toyota, 17, for failing to yield the right of way to a pedestrian.
The female pedestrian was initially released from the hospital on November 5. Paramedics responded to her residence on Monday (November 17) and pronounced her deceased. The Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences informed officers she passed away due to complications from the crash.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division’s investigation is ongoing.
