The fatal shooting of two males at 4000 Essex Lane about 10 p.m. on Thursday (November 20) will be referred to a Harris County Grand Jury.
The identity of the deceased males are pending identification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant A. Dudley and Detective K. Heaverlo reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call at an apartment complex at the above address. Officers learned that a male fired shots at multiple armed suspects who forced their way into an apartment. A witness reported seeing multiple persons attempting to break down the door of one of the units before calling the police.
The male inside the apartment said he was alone at the time of the break-in and had been tied up by the persons who forced their way into the apartment before freeing himself and opening fire with a handgun of his own. The male shooter was not injured.
Houston Fire Department pronounced one male deceased at the scene and transported another to an area hospital where doctors pronounced him deceased.
Officers found narcotics, weapons, and money inside the apartment. Narcotics-related charges have been filed on two adult males.
After consulting with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office it was determined the shooting would be referred to a Harris County Grand Jury.
Anyone with information in this case is urged to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600.
