Investigation into Fatal Crash at 3500 Corder Street

Houston police are investigating the fatal crash in the 3500 block of Corder Street about 4:35 p.m. on December 23.
The identity of the deceased female, 43, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant P. Lee and Officer F. Serna reported:
A white Chevrolet Cobalt was traveling eastbound at the above address, allegedly pursuing a gold Toyota sedan. The Chevrolet ran a stop sign, lost control and struck a female who was standing outside a gray Toyota Sienna. Houston Fire Department paramedics transported the female to an area hospital where she was pronounced deceased.
Officers detained the male driver, 34, of the Chevrolet and he was later released. At this time, no charges have been filed as the investigation continues.
