Investigation into Fatal Shooting Incident at 13351 Cityscape Avenue 

Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of an armed male suspect by HPD officers at 13351 Cityscape Avenue about 1:40 a.m. today (Dec. 26).
The identity of the deceased male is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Officers R. Hernandez, J. Rodriguez Juarez, and M. Villarreal,  who discharged their duty weapons, were not injured in the incident. The officers are assigned to the Southeast Patrol Division and were sworn in as HPD officers in November 2024 and January 2025, respectively.
HPD Homicide Division Special Investigations Unit Detectives J. Windham and A. Henderson reported:
Officers responded to a report of an accident and were provided information that an intoxicated male had struck a vehicle and threatened a female with a firearm.
Upon arrival, officers observed the suspect’s vehicle with the suspect inside.  As officers approached the vehicle they observed the suspect to be armed with at least one firearm and gave the suspect multiple verbal commands. Officers then observed the armed suspect make sudden movements inside the vehicle and the officers discharged their weapons, striking the suspect.
Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the suspect deceased. No officers were injured.
As is customary in officer involved shooting incidents, the case is being investigated by the HPD Homicide Division, the Internal Affairs Division and the Harris County District Attorney’s Office.
