A suspect, who sustained a gunshot wound in the fatal shooting of a man at 6400 Main Street about 9:05 p.m. on January 9, has been charged.
Jordan Lee Williams, 32, is now charged with murder in the 230th Criminal District Court. He was also previously charged with felon in possession of a weapon in the same Criminal District Court. A prior booking photo of Williams, who remains hospitalized, is attached to this news release.
The deceased male is identified as Keshawn Humphrey, 21.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant W. Dunn and Detective L. Brooks reported:
Officers responded to a report of a shooting at the above address and found a male, later identified as Mr. Humphrey, lying on the sidewalk with multiple gunshot wounds. Responding Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced him deceased at the scene. At approximately the same time a second male, Williams, was discovered approximately two blocks south on a Houston Metro Rail platform also suffering from gunshot wounds. He was transported to an area hospital where he is recovering from non life-threatening injuries.
Further investigation revealed an altercation occurred at the above address. Williams was found to be in possession of a weapon and was initially charged with felon in possession of a weapon. On Wednesday (Jan. 14) after examining evidence and speaking with witnesses, he was charged with murder for his role in the fatal shooting.
