Houston police are investigating the fatal crash that occurred at 5000 Lockwood Drive about 3:55 a.m. on Saturday (Jan. 24).
The identity of the deceased male is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant E. Alejandro and Officer J. Trevino reported:
The driver of a silver Toyota Camry was traveling southbound on Lockwood at the above address when they struck a pedestrian, crossing Pardee at the intersection of Lockwood, in a crosswalk. Responding Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced the victim deceased at the scene.
According to witnesses, the driver continued southbound on Lockwood until they reached the light at Rand Street, made a U-Turn and stopped to where the pedestrian lay in the roadway.  They then left the scene without attempting to render first aid.
The investigation is continuing.
