Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 7402 Calhoun Road

Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a female that occurred at 7402 Calhoun Road about 12:45 a.m. on Sunday (February 8).
The identity of the deceased female, 26, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide Division Detectives A. Rodriguez and M. Cater reported:
Officers responded to a report of a shooting at an apartment complex at the above address. When they arrived, they found one victim had been transported to an area hospital via a private hospital. She was later pronounced deceased by doctors.
Further investigation revealed multiple people were hanging out within the apartment complex parking lot when a physical altercation took place. The physical altercation escalated and a suspect fired a gun at the victim.
