Houston police have arrested a suspect charged in the fatal shooting of a man that occurred at 909 Texas Street about 5 p.m. on Saturday (February 14).
The suspect, Nicholas Taylor Youngblood, 21, is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the 228th Criminal District Court. A booking photo of Youngblood is attached to the news release.
The identity of the deceased male, 25, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Major Assaults Division Detective A. Alvarez reported:
Officers responded to a shooting call at the above address and located a male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Houston Fire Department paramedics transported the male to an area hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.
Further investigation determined the male was involved in a verbal altercation with that suspect that led to the shooting.
Responding officers detained Youngblood a few blocks from the scene. The Harris County District Attorney’s office was consulted and Youngblood was subsequently arrested and charged for his role in this incident.  Upgraded charges are pending following the victim’s death.
