UPDATE: Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Shooting at 9707 South Gessner Road

Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a male at 9707 South Gessner Road about 2:15 a.m. on March 2.
The suspect, Milton Eleazar Hernandez-Lopez, 35, is charged with murder in the 339th Criminal District Court. Hernandez-Lopez’s booking photo is attached to this news release.
The victim is identified as Jose Luis Escobar Hernandez, 21.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant K. Persad and C. LaFour and Detectives L. Yasin, T. Tyler and A. Hernandez reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call at an apartment complex at the above address and found a male suffering from a gunshot wound. Houston Fire Department paramedics transported him to an area hospital, where doctors later pronounced him deceased.
Further investigation identified Milton Eleazar Hernandez-Lopez as the suspect in this incident. On Tuesday (March 10), officers with HPD’s South Gessner Patrol Division’s Crime Suppression Team arrested Hernandez-Lopez. He admitted to his role in the incident and was subsequently charged and booked into the Harris County jail.
