Investigation into Fatal Crash at 5100 Southwest Freeway

Houston police are investigating the fatal crash that occurred at 5100 Southwest Freeway about 5:15 a.m. today (April 10).
The identity of the deceased female, 25, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant N. Medrano and Officer J. Trevino reported:
The driver of a silver Mazda CX5 was traveling eastbound on the Southwest Freeway when she failed to maintain a single lane and struck a barricade at the split of the freeway with Interstate 610. Responding Houston Fire Department Paramedics pronounced the female deceased at the scene.
No other persons or vehicles were involved in this crash.
The investigation is continuing.
