Investigation into Fatal Crash at 3500 Gulf Freeway

Houston police are investigating a fatal auto-pedestrian crash that occurred at 3500 Gulf Freeway (South Interstate Highway 45) about 12:25 a.m. today (April 27).
The identity of the deceased male is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant R. Dallas and T. Johnson reported:
The driver of a blue Dodge Avenger was traveling southbound at the above address when the vehicle struck a pedestrian attempting to cross the main lanes of the freeway. Responding Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced the male deceased at the scene.
The male driver, 50, of the Dodge remained at the scene, did not show signs of intoxication, and was questioned and released.
The investigation is ongoing.
