Investigation into Fatal Crash at 4800 North Freeway

Houston police are investigating the fatal auto-pedestrian crash at 4800 North Freeway (North interstate Highway 45) about 3:20 a.m. on Saturday (May 23).
The identity of the deceased individual is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant M. Barrow and Officer R. Guzman reported:
A pedestrian was on the main lanes of the freeway near the above address when they were struck by a white Freightliner 18 wheeler. The male driver, 51, exited and called 911.
Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the pedestrian deceased. The 18 wheeler driver was determined not to be impaired and was questioned and released.
The investigation is continuing.
