Investigation into Fatal Fire Incident at 1509 Hamblen Street

Houston police are awaiting autopsy results in the death of a woman found after a fire at 1509 Hamblen Street at about 6:45 a.m. on Tuesday (November 3).
The identity of the deceased female, 61, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant C. Ponder reported:
HPD patrol officers and Houston Fire Department personnel responded to a fire at a residence at the above address. Firefighters found an unresponsive female inside the residence. She was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The investigation is pending the female’s cause of death, to be determined by an autopsy.
The Houston Fire Department Arson Division is investigating the cause of the fire.
