Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 8735 FM 1960 West

Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of woman and apparent suicide of a man found at 8735 FM 1960 West about 12:25 p.m. on Wednesday (May 7).
The identities of the female victim, 71, and the male suspect, 54, are pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant J. Brooks and Detective C. Flora reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call at a hotel at the above address and found an unresponsive male and female. They had both suffered gunshot wounds and paramedics pronounced them deceased at the scene.
Investigators learned the female is the mother of the male. Preliminary investigation indicates the male shot the female, then shot himself.
