One Suspect Arrested, Another Sought in 2020 Fatal Shooting at 2902 Almeda Genoa Road

Charges have been filed against two suspects in the fatal shooting of a man at 2902 Almeda Genoa Road on March 1, 2020.
The suspects, Juvenal Antonio Lopez Rivera, 33, and Francisco Elieser Sanches Veliz, 37, are charged with capital murder in the 174th and 497th Criminal District Court, respectively. Lopez Rivera is currently not in custody. His previous booking photo is attached to this news release.
Sanches Veliz has been arrested. His booking photo is also attached to this news release.
The victim is identified as Anastacio Alcazar, 60.
HPD Homicide Division Detectives G. Rangel and H. Montealegre reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call at a game room at the above address. According to a witness, the shooting occurred during a robbery incident. The victim, later identified as Mr. Alcazar, was transported to an area hospital where he passed away on April 16, 2020.
Further investigation identified Juvenal Antonio Lopez Rivera and Francisco Elieser Sanches Veliz as two of the suspects responsible for the fatal shooting. On October 22, 2026, Sanches Veliz was taken into  custody by members of the Texas Department of Public Safety Violent Crimes Unit. He was subsequently charged and booked into the Harris County jail.
On October 27, 2026, charges were filed against Lopez Rivera. He is currently not in custody.
