Investigation into Fatal Crash at 1400 West Bellfort Street

Houston police are investigating the fatal crash that occurred at 1400 West Bellfort Street about 10:30 p.m. on Wednesday (Nov. 26).
The identity of the deceased female, 38, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Griffiths and Officer N. Solomon reported:
The driver of a blue Buick LaCrosse was traveling westbound on West Bellfort when the driver failed to maintain a single lane and left the roadway. The vehicle then struck a tree in the center median and caught fire. Responding Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced the driver deceased at the scene.
No other vehicles or persons were involved in this crash.
The investigation is ongoing.
