Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 6200 West Sam Houston Parkway South
The fatal shooting of a man in the 6200 block of West Sam Houston Parkway South (Beltway 8) service road about 9:35 a.m. on April 9 will be referred to a Harris County Grand Jury.
The identity of the deceased male, 47, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant C. Lamont and Detectives C. Flora and W. Elliot reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to an assault call at the above address and found two vehicles that appeared to have been involved in a crash. Officers located a male with more than one gunshot wound. Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced him deceased at the scene.
Witnesses stated there appeared to be a disturbance between two vehicles that led to a crash. Then, there was a physical altercation between the two drivers that resulted in the shooting.
The male shooter, 41, remained at the scene and was transported to an area hospital for non-life threatening injuries. He was later discharged and questioned by detectives.
After consulting with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office it was determined the shooting would be referred to a Harris County Grand Jury.
