Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Shooting at 5117 Lavender Street 

Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a woman at 5117 Lavender Street about 4:05 p.m. on Monday (June 8).
The suspect, Marockus Silas, 34, is charged with murder in the 178th Criminal District Court. A booking photo of Silas is attached to the news release.
The identity of the victim, 42, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide Division Detectives R. Reyes, J. Meister and A. Garcia reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call at the above address and located a female laying on the ground in the parking lot with a gunshot wound. Houston Fire Department paramedics transported the female to an area hospital where she was pronounced deceased.
Officers detained Silas at the scene. The Harris County District Attorney’s office was consulted and Silas was subsequently arrested and charged for his role in this incident..
