Investigation into Fatal Crash at 7500 Richmond Avenue 

Houston police are investigating the fatal crash that occurred at 7500 Richmond Avenue about 1:50 a.m. on October 10.
The identity of the deceased male, 66, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant G. Garcia and Officer L. Nguyen reported:
A white Volkswagen Atlas was traveling northbound on Hillcroft Avenue at a high rate of speed. The driver ran a red light at the above address and struck a red Toyota Matrix. The driver of the Volkswagen fled the scene and was later detained.
Responding Houston Fire Department paramedics transported the driver of the Toyota to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
The investigation is continuing.
