Investigation into Shooting Incident at 8323 Cinnamon Lane

Houston police are investigating a shooting incident in which HPD officers discharged their duty weapons at several armed suspects, striking one at 8323 Cinnamon Lane about 2:05 a.m. today (June 6).
A juvenile male, 15, was transported to an area hospital in stable condition. He has pending charges that will be referred to the Harris County Juvenile Probation Authorities. Names of photos of juveniles suspects are not public.
A second suspect, female, 20, is also arrested and charges are pending.
HPD Officers A. Miller and F. Coronado, who both discharged their duty weapons were not injured in this incident. Both are assigned to the Westside Patrol Division and were sworn in as officers in September 2019 and November 2009, respectively.
HPD Homicide Division Special Investigations Unit C. Walker and J. Windham reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a report of gunshots at an apartment complex at the above address and when they arrived they began walking through the complex. They then encountered a group of individuals armed with firearms who began firing at the officers.
Both officers, fearing for their safety and for the safety of those around them, fired their duty weapons, striking the male at least one time. Officers rendered first aid and the male was transported to an area hospital in stable condition. The second suspect, female, was not injured and was arrested and transported to the Harris County Jail.
As is customary in HPD officer-involved shooting incidents in the Houston city limits, this case is being investigated by the HPD Special Investigations Unit, the Internal Affairs Division and the Harris County District Attorney’s Office.
