Suspect Charged, Arrested in Fatal Shooting at 9822 Fondren Road

Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a woman at 9822 Fondren Road about 3:55 p.m. on April 18.
The suspect is identified as Mohamad Farhan Kahil, 52, is charged with murder in the 486th Criminal District Court. A drivers license photo of Kahil, who is currently in the hospital, is attached to this news release.
The identity of the victim, 44, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide Division Detectives D. Toledo and V. Villarreal reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call in a parking lot at the above address and found a woman in the driver’s seat of a vehicle. She had suffered at least one gunshot wound. Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced her deceased at the scene.
Officers also located a male who had suffered an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. Paramedics transported the male, identified as Kahil, to the hospital in critical condition.
Preliminary information indicates the victim and Kahil are married. After further investigation, he was charged for his role in the shooting of the victim and remains in custody in the hospital.
