UPDATE: Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Shooting at 5909 Glenmont Drive

Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man at 5909 Glenmont Drive about 8:55 p.m. on August 28.
The suspect, Luis Fernando Zepeda Orellana, 17, is charged with murder in the 182nd Criminal District Court. Zepeda Orellana’s booking photo is attached to this news release.
The victim is identified as Franklin Rivera-Archaga, 20.
HPD Homicide Division Detectives H. Martinez and S. Chettry reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call at an apartment complex at the above address. They found a male in the driver seat of a crashed vehicle. Officers learned that the victim was shot in the parking lot of the apartment complex before driving away and crashing outside of the complex. Houston Fire Department paramedics transported him to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
Further investigation identified Luis Fernando Zepeda Orellana as the suspect in this incident. He was subsequently charged and arrested by members of HPD’s South Gessner Patrol Division’s Crime Suppression Team.
