Investigation into Fatal Crash at 600 Crosstimbers Street

Houston police are investigating the fatal crash that occurred at 600 Crosstimbers Street about 5 a.m. today (August 28).
The identity of the deceased male is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant E. Alejandro and Officer J. Campbell reported:
The male was driving a black Chevrolet Malibu westbound at the above address when he failed to drive in a single lane and struck a metro sign posted on the north side of the street. He then continued forward, struck another crosswalk sign and crashed into a tree. The male was not wearing a seatbelt and when officers arrived they found him standing outside the vehicle breathing heavily.
Responding Houston Fire Department paramedics transported him to an area hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.
No other persons or vehicles were involved. The investigation is continuing.
