Investigation into Fatal Crash at 5400 Selinsky Road

Houston police are investigation a fatal auto-pedestrian crash in the 5400 block of Selinsky Road about 10 p.m. on April 17.
The deceased male is identified as Thomas Ponder, 44.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant K. Bui and Officer J. Rincon reported:
A red Toyota Tacoma was eastbound at the above address when the vehicle struck a pedestrian. Witnesses told officers the pedestrian may have been partially standing or sitting in the roadway prior to the crash. Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced the male, later identified as Thomas Ponder, deceased.
The male driver of the Toyota remained at the scene and showed no signs of impairment. He was questioned and released.
The investigation is continuing.
