Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 9600 Tidwell Road 

The fatal shooting of a man at 9600 Tidwell Road that occurred about 7:40 p.m. on May 13 will be referred to a Harris County Grand Jury.
The identity of the deceased male, believed to be in his 40s, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant K. Meek and Detective K. Aloysius reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a suspicious person call in the 9600 block of Summer Shadow Way. Upon arrival, officers were notified of a shooting that occurred nearby and located an unresponsive male in a ditch at the above address. Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced the male deceased at the scene.
Further investigation determined the male was trespassing in several backyards throughout the day. The male shooter stated he attempted to get the suspicious male to leave the neighborhood when the male began to assault him. The male discharged his firearm striking the suspicious male. The shooter remained at the scene and provided information to investigators.  .
After consulting with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office it was determined the shooting would be referred to a Harris County Grand Jury.
