UPDATE: Suspect Arrested in Fatal Shooting at 9338 Fairland Drive
Houston police have arrested a suspect charged in the fatal shooting of a woman and wounding of three others at 9338 Fairland Drive about 2:35 a.m. on August 15.
The suspect, Kendrick Maurice Williams, 51, is charged with murder and three counts of aggravated assault in the 180th Criminal District Court. Williams’ booking photo is attached to this news release.
The identity of the deceased female victim, 44, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide Division Detectives J. Wallschlaeger and M. Althaus reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call at the above address and found a woman with multiple gunshot wounds in the driveway of the residence. Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced her deceased at the scene.
Officers also located two females and a male suffering from gunshots wounds and they were transported to an area hospital.
A witness stated the suspect was upset with his girlfriend when he went to the address and found the four victims sitting inside a vehicle in the driveway. The suspect then began shooting into the vehicle, striking all four of them.
Further investigation identified Williams as the suspect in this case and on August 15th he was charged for his role in the shooting. Today (August 21) Williams was located and arrested by officers with the Westside Patrol Division. He was booked into the Harris County Jail.
